Default 06 f150 lariat fog light bulb upgrade?

Well, I love my truck to death, but my fog lights aren't very well "bright" per say. are their any upgrade bulbs I can buy as replacements that wont melt the housing?

I refuse to go HID. I bought a "PNP hid kit" with my halos worst mistake of my life ****ty output/beam pattern (which I knew...) so I'm saving up to do a proper OEM housing retrofit..

From what I've read you can run 9155 in those housings, I've got a set of silver stars for my '08 but haven't put them in yet. Running 9145 silver stars now.

9145=45 watts
9155=55 watts

If you live in the US just be sure the new light assemblies and lens are DOT approved types. Otherwise you may have to remove them to get your required safety inspection stickers.

Also keep in mind there are DOT requirements with how those kinds of lights can be used in addition to your other installed lights... In other words you just can't install additional FOG lights with a ON-OFF switch somewhere. Where we live they can only be ON when you have the low beam lights turned ON. Something about only four lights up front can be ON at any given time... If you are replacing your current OEM installed FOX lights and using the same wiring then all should be ok... They still have to be DOT approved types however...

Just check the rules and regulations on this before dumping alot of money into them.

I have a set of the silver star ultra's installed and pass state inspection no problem...they are DOT approved bulbs...now the LED back-up bulb are not...made me swap they back to a DOT bulb to pass inspection. they can be azzhole's when they want to be.
