Default '06 F150 4x4/5.4/auto has developed 'slack' when going into drive

I recently had to pull a tractor out of a soft spot in a field, didnt do a whole lot of abuse to the tranny but now it seems to have a slight amount of 'slack' in the transmission when you put it in drive, doesnt do it in reverse. Instead of going into gear like normal, it seems to pause for a split second then engage rougher than normal.

Still runs great, shifts fine, shifts in/out of 4wd fine. Truck has 105,000 miles.

Any thoughts on what happened to it or if I should do something about it?

Thanks,
Jeff
