Yep, my XL has "leather" vinyl seats as well.......
Either truck will do what you want. The years and mileages are close enough that I would consider them a non issue as is the price. The distance traveled to get it is pretty much a non issue as well because 2 weeks down the road, it wont matter. It really comes down between the sportier looks of the 05 verses the 5.4 and heavier drivetrain of the 06. I would look them both over for overall condition.
That STX looks to me like it has a leveling kit or a small lift on it.
Also you said you would be towing a little with it, does the XL have a tow package? how about a rear LS? Bedliners? How are the tires on them? Have the plugs been changed on them? Either of them been wrecked? All things to think about and consider.
All being equal, if it were me I would probably get the white 06 with 5.4 because I dont require a flashy truck.

Show the guy with the 05 the 06 and barter him down a bit. you should be able to get a pretty good deal once he sees that you could get a newer truck with a bigger engine for the same price

The gray 05 looks better IMO, if either is not what you really want keep searching until you find one that meets the specs you want! You'll have the truck for a while make sure it is one that you like and will not wish you waited or got something different. I love my truck, but there are many models and options so make sure you are getting what you like!
also does the 05 have aftermarket exhaust? I see it is coming out of in front of the rear tire.... I thought they came out behind the tire stock? i could be wrong though as mine is an 04 FX4

The gray (05?) has an aftermarket exhaust.... what other mods have been done? Not that the mods would be a plus... you may not want some of the mods that have been done..............
