Default 05 suspension noise

I have an 05 XLT 4X4 and ill be driving and over bumps ill hear like clunks and feel it in the pedal and steering wheel. not big noises or vibrations but it feels like it could be something loose. I drove my buddies 03 1500 hd and his had the same problem and he said his was a bearing of some sort gone bad. is he right and should I need to worry about fixing it ?

yes he could be right but there are other things which could be wrong, take it to your mechanic and tell him to check your ball joints, etc...

Could you please post when you find out what the problem is.

I drive an 05 fx4 and I feel the same noises as you.

Thanks

Possibly your sway bar bushings are going out.

Had the same thing and was told (on here) that it was most likely a piece broke off in the steering linkage somewhere and while annoying, not damaging. Would love to find out if its something else.

Sway links would be my first go to as that was the first thing to start acting up on mine. Second would be UCA ball joints followed by outter tie rod ends. Fairly simple to replace if you have some decent mechanical know how and a good set of tools.

A broken Coil spring will produce that clunk over bumps also...

I'm not saying this is your problem, but I had an 05 SCAB that I put a level kit on... After that, the bushings in the bottom strut mount kept breaking loose. It never caused any major issues other than it sounded like someone playing the drums when driving down a relatively bumpy road.
