I just changed my plugs myself at 200,000 miles and had no problem with them coming apart in the block because I put 2 cans of Seafoam through my vacuum line. Then I replaced them with the Champion 7879 and they work great.

i have a new set of motercraft sp507 plugs on my work bench right now and they look just like the old ones , they look like they are still two piece to me. but i could be wrong.

it seems that ford has an updated plug for the 5.4 3V
