05 Bumper Cover
Group,
Just starting the odyssey of replacing the front bumper on my 05 XL. The bumper is currently chrome (And thrashed) and the upper cover is black plastic. I wish to replace the bumper with a painted version (White) and possibly paint the black plastic cover to match. Another thing I would like to do is add the fog lights. I have heard the factory lights are not so good but I was wondering if it is difficult to get into the factory wiring harness and add fog lights (Planning a quality aftermarket light). Second question is about the upper cover. My body guy says the plastic is difficult to paint and to buy a new one but the only ones I find are "Primed Plastic". Are these color cast at the factory or what? May try painting it myself. Ive had zero luck finding a painted bumper (front or rear) at the local yards so I am looking at the OEM style replacements on Ebay.
