05 Aux audio input???

I totally understand that by all means......thats not what I'm getting at though. It falls in one of those categories "If it aint broke don't fix it", the jack that comes in the truck, or at least in mine anyway, works perfect and its as clear as playing a cd. So with that being said why would want to do all that and spend the money??
Makes no sense to me! But I never claimed to be a genius either! So whatever floats your boat!!

from that imput jack, you cant controll the ipod, and it wont charge it either.
so if he wants to put it in his glove box, the line in is not the best way to do it.
To answer your first question, if there are rca jacks, on the head unit, they are outs, not ins.

What he is saying is that you can't control the iPOD from the factory controls by using the "Line In" from the top of he dash and you can only control the iPOD by using the controls on the iPOD. BUT if you don't want to control the iPOD from the factory controls than I understand.
The main reason I like mine is because I can control it using the factory controls. I did spend $170 for the harness and to me it's well worth it but I completely understand if you don't want yours like that.
I wasn't trying to come off sounding like a *****. I didn't fully understand your question the first time around.

and if you use the linr in, you are going to want to charge your ipod too, because if you use it alot, it will be dead in a week. And that means more wires hanging around.....

if you want full ipod control, Alpines headunits with full speed control are much better than anything else you can find. I have an Alpine CDA-9857 in my car and it rocks. The interface shows every plat option that the ipod shows.
