05 Aux audio input???
i have an '05 FX4 with the 6-disc CD-changer. i noticed that the head unit has an 'Aux' button on the face. When i press it, it says "No AUX Audio"
Im asuming this would be used if i had the DVD player option or something like that.
My question is.... if i pull out the head unit, are their RCA inputs on the back of the head unit???
my goal is to run a cabe into my glovebox to connect my iPod.
any help is great... Thanks

try this, i know its not cheap, but for adaptability and a clean install without the ghey mini-jack cable, i would rock this.

that looks gheto imo...
check out the ones on crutchfield, they will run you about 165 bucks, but you will be able to controll it through the headunit, and use your stearing wheel controlls if you have them.
Im not positive about them working witha cd changer though, but I think it uses the same port on the back as xm or serius, so it might be okay.

I'm glad you asked this. I recently installed an iPOD hookup in my truck. There are no cables coming from the back of the radio. I also have the 6 disc changer and the install took all of 5 minutes to do. I ordered the Peripheral iPOD connector from www.crutchfield.com and had it in 2 days.
All you have to do is disconnect 2 wiring harness from the back of the radio and plug them into the afternarket iPOD connector and plug the iPOD connector into the radio and it will work fine.
The iPOD connector cost me $170 from Crutchfield and all my radio controls still work fine. You do have to switch it to 'AUX' when you play the iPOD but you can still play a cd while it is connected.
I gaurantee you'll love it!!!
Here's a few pics of mine and how I have mine hooked up. Let me know if you have any questions.

im not really concerned about being able to control it through the OEM controls, considering i have none on my wheel.
so your saying im gonna have to spend like $150....i cant just plug in an RCA cable..... right ???

Yeah you can plug a line to that "Line In" converter on the dash but it will never be as clear and it will never have the functionality of doing what I did so go ahead and go the cheap route.

I just used a cable to run from ipod to the factory input up on the dash. It's as clear a cd playing....dont know why you would want to spend all that money when you can plainly use the connector already there.
