What Ford engineers have you been talking to? Here's what they write in the TSB:

CAUTION
DO NOT REMOVE PLUGS WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM OR HOT. THE ENGINE MUST BE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE WHEN PERFORMING SPARK PLUG SERVICE. REMOVING THE SPARK PLUGS FROM A WARM/HOT ENGINE INCREASES THE CHANCE THE THREADS COULD BE DAMAGED.

Here's the full TSB:

do you back em off alittle and use slickem or do it dry? which way is better?

I use a little PB Blast. After I take the coil off I spray some in the hole and take them out. Never work them back and forth. We have had several customers do that and they always break. The snap-on tool is the one we use to take the broke ones out. I don't know how well any other tool works.

I personally don't. Some people might but I have never seen or done it that way.
