Default 04-ticking engine

dropped off my 04 5.4 for warranty work on the ticking engine at hot idle. they agreed to change cam phaser as per warranty. said it would take 1 day.

it's now been 4 days they've had the truck and when I went to get some documents from the glove box I noticed it was on the hoist and both front tires were totally flat.

Is there any plausible reason why they would have to take air out of the front tires to change the cam phaser on an 04.

(I asked why my tires were flat, didn't get an answer)

The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe the mechanic "lowered" the front end to make reaching in easier by flattening the tires.
