04 screw 5.4 mystery connector???
hey all, newbie here i recently switched back to ford after a short toyota
tundra ownership......;/ i purchased a 04 screw lariat with a 5.4,
i noticed a connector under dash near the obd connec.
i have asked locally if any one knew what it is for ,but nobody knows??
if anybody has seen this type of connector before can you
shed some light on this for me.....( i was going to just disconnect it
but don't really like messing with electrical stuff)

Possibly something for an aftermarket electric brake setup. The screws and universal mounting plate lead me to believe that this is not a factory installed item.

It's aftermarket... trace the wires from it to see what/where they connect to. Give us the factory color codes of the wires this connector is wired to, and then we can tell you by checking our factory wiring schematics.

I have seen some security devices that look similar to that connector. They are usually wired in as a starter interupter and have a chip that plugs into it to complete the circuit and allow you to start the truck. But if your truck is starting fine and that is indeed what it is, it may be already disconnected. Trace it out and see what its connected to.
