You can cut off the rear cats with no check engine light coming on I did it to mine the O2 sincers are only for the front cats so you don't need to turn them off with the sct unless you are gone to cut off all four cats. And yes cutting off the back two cat will make it louder I did it and ran true duals with flowmaster super 40's out the back with 2.5" pipe and 3.5" x 12" long stainless steel tips and couldnt be happier with the sound
