I also don't think it's a rod. Not with those codes. How many miles?

I haven't had any major issues until last year. The truck is going on 13 years old and now it seems like everything is crapping out at the same time

I'm the second owner. Truck has always been in the family. I've had it 7 years now

Yeah, they do that... when it rains, it pours. I think you should REALLY consider opening that engine up (like so many of us here have done) and replacing all that timing equipment. Most common things are shattered chain guides. My own driver's side chain guide was broken. Because while you're in there, with the timing sprockets removed, you can just take the cams out (easy) and replace all the lifters and roller rockers (that doesn't even take any tools, just your fingers). A lot of folks also do the oil pump just because they're right there and why not... I didn't change my oil pump, but I did also do my thermostat, water pump, and power steering pump.

Thanks. I don't mind a shop doing all that if that's all it needs. I work and go to school full time and have 2 kids... so time is not something I have a lot of these days.

But a new engine... I didn't think so.
