04 fx4 replacement motors
Hey guys I have an 04 NBS fx4 with the triton 5.4 3v. The motor just let go and I have not yet even pulled it out to perform automotive archeology to see what caused its failure as im trying to still check all my sources for replacement motors.
I have done some research into triton 3v 5.4's and im having a hard time finding a list of vehicles that use the same motor. My local junker only has f150s up to 2001-ish so would I be able to drop in a 5.4 from an older f150 or are there major differences? other than that what would be my options other than a 3k short block from a dealer or lightning? I hear rebuilding these is difficult as most likely the block will require sleeves due to small tolerances?

Sorry they have up to 2 2004's I don't know if they have 5.4 or the 4.6 or even if they're the NBS. So I'm going engine spotting tomorrow so I need to know which trucks could be possible donors as far as bolt in and wire up goes. thank you all in advance

As long as it's 5.4 3v it should be a direct swap.

Some of the expeditions? Had the 5.4 3v also.
