I have not changed the alternator. About a year and a half ago I had the common 3rd brake light water leak. The entire wire harness trough that runs down the driver's side was filled with water. I pulled all of that out, in addition to the gauge cluster, seats and carpet. The reason for removing the gauge cluster was because I was diagnosing P and B codes which indicated the body control and GEM modules had issues. It wasn't until later that I discovered the water....when I started tracking the wires. Anywho....ever since sometimes the charging indicator gauge reads like it should. Sometimes, like the alternator is not charging...and sometimes...well what ever the hell it feels like displaying. I have tested the output of the alternator at all of the different charging indications the gauge has displayed. Zero problem with charging.

Any ideas/similar experiences/fix suggestions. All other gauge functionality normal.
