Good deal. I'm glad they all came out for you. Mine all came out without breaking as well. I like wrenching on my stuff, but I have to say I didn't really enjoy that job. Especially getting that rear passenger side plug out. Probably spent 45 minutes just working that one back and forth until I had it out. How many miles were on the truck when you pulled them?

Wow, that's a lot of miles on the truck let alone the plugs. Are you saying you had 170K on the plugs? If so, that's got to be some sort of record. And you got them all out without breaking any. That's got to be another record.

Default Torque Spec SP515 Plugs

Just received my Motorcraft SP515 plugs today. The boxes state the torque as 23-27 lb-ft. In the Aerospace biz we usually torque to the middle of the range. That would be 25 lb-ft.

I will be doing the spark plug change as soon as the Lisle tool arrives. 93000 mile on my 2005. I am going to replace the boots also.

I was at a gas engine scool for ford and the techs at that school said they are using impacts to remove them with no problems so being curious i tried it and IT WORKED. 80,000 miles and they came right out. Dont loosen em just hit them with the impact! I know this wont work for all of them but it worked on mine.

Has anyone else used an impact on their spark plugs? for some reason I really want to try this but I can't talk myself into it.

I finally changed out my plugs today and ended up breaking 2 of them. I first thought I was screwed but the lisle tool worked out perfectly!

I just bought a truck with 175,000. Changed out original plugs without a problem using kroil. Back and forth, making sure they were chirping at me until loose. Blew out plug barrel be for removing plug to blow out the kroil and cap in there. Fought a misfire problem. But got through it. I was cracking the plugs when installing them. I got them all going now with new coils. Will be doing a complete timing set and phasers next.success is possible with patience!
