Default Dead Battery, Clicking In The Dash?

Parked 2007 F-150 4x4 2 weeks. Often it sits for weeks. Never a problem. Has fairly new battery. Get in, dead. No nothing. Tried to jump. Wont start because batteries too dead. Waited about ten minutes charging. Fired right up. Drove it around for an hour. Clicking noises heard inside the dash, beneath radio. Down near the 4x4 selector ****. It continues to intermittently click... as if its a relay of some sort. It is not the fuel pump, nor the cut off. It's not in the fuse box either. What could it be to cause a battery to run down? I've seen some folk post this happens and its the pump between cab and bed... Not the case here. It is defiantly in the mid dash area under the radio, thermal controls... More-over toward the 4x4 selector ****. I can't figure it out. Anyone have any good idea's? the minute I stick my head under there it stops.... Driving me nuts.

Same exact problem with my '05 Lariat 4x4. This problem seemed to have begun right around the time I had removed my battery leads to do a little clean up around the corroded terminals. Coincidence? I heard ticking coming from under the truck, behind the dash, and the CD player was acting crazy. I have been stranded three times by this electrical issue. Each time my key was left in the ignition with truck not running. The battery would be completely drained in under an hour.

Had alternator and battery tested twice. Was told it and battery are good. If I drive truck, and remove key after turning off engine, truck will restart as normal. If I leave key in ignition, battery will die within a hour.

Shouldn't you take the key out when you're done driving anyway? Why would you leave the key in the ignition? Seems like a good way to have the truck stolen.

Off topic. Of the 18 years I've owned this truck, this (electrical issue) has not been a problem until recently. Any technical advice would be appreciated.

This just happened today with my 2006 F-150 4x4. Battery was dead so it was changed. Now clicking From the radio area every time we open the door or close it. Alternator was fine and battery is brand new. Everything else is working fine and no dash lights on indicating any problems...
Anybody have a solution before I take it to the Ford dealer and get reamed?

Clicking sound like one of the HVAC flapper motors? Look that up and see if it's your sound.

Is the clicking very rapid like a relay or is it somewhat slower?
I recently had a 2000 4.6 with a very rapid clicking noise but I did not investigate since the truck was going to scrap yard. Somewhat slower clicking is likely HVAC flapper motors as needsmoarturbo stated above.
