04 F150 runs like on battery 'til emty-next day starts up normal
Hey guys, need your help!
I have a 04 F150 Lariat 4x4 with an aftermarket alternator. The check charging system light illuminates right after start up but runs fine, so thats not the problem (i think). I have this issue since i bought it.
Few days ago i drove my truck to pick up the kids and suddenly the headlights and the whole electrical system faded out until the engine stopped, like the truck ran on battery until empty.
I parked the truck and next day it started as usual and ran about half an hour, then the same issue occured. This happened twice.
The alternator is charging correctly and the battery isn't bad.
So what could cause the problem? Any help is appreciated!
P.S.: couldn't find an answer with the search function.

sounds like the Alt to me... the battery starts the truck and the Alt keeps it running.

Sounds like alt to me too. Take alt and battery to parts store, and they will test both.

They already tested the alt at the parts store, it charged well. The battery is charging right now and will be tested tomorrow.
Could it be another issue than the alt? As i said, the engine was running as the whole electricity system faded out. The dash turned black and every indicator was pointing to zero as the engine started to shake like the injection system had no more power and suddenly stopped.
Is it possible that the alternator is the problem though?

Alt was tested in the store, not in the truck, right?
If so, could be an issue with how you installed it in your truck.
Most likely ground issue.
If the regulator has no ground reference it might fail-safe to no current output

the alt is the cause of this problem... like stated above... it may be wires corroded or an intermittent problem with the Alt itself.
