Default 04 F150 Overdrive Button stuck in

I have a 2004 F150 XLT Supercrew. The overdrive button is stuck in and wont pop back out. So at the moment O/D is stuck off. Button is on the end of the shift lever.

Only threads I can find are talking about O/D just not working, and the cause being pinched wires. But this doesn't appear to be the case here.

I tried spraying some rubbing alcohol around the button so it would seep down in around the cracks, but no luck there. Is there a way to remove the button to clean underneath it?

Try white/dry lithium grease. Works magic on my doors.

As for taking apart the shifter. I believe it would twist apart. Only way I can see that it could be made. That is if it is serviceable and not glued together.
