04 F150 Driving lights go out after I start driving?
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum, and I joined in hopes of getting some answers to a problem I am having with my 04 F150 Lariat. My truck started blowing the #6 fuse, which says its driving lights, instrument illumination, and BSM. I've disconnected my rear lights, and it pops the fuse. I've disconnected the front lights and it still blows the fuse. I found mounted on the rear axle the Fuel Delivery Module was all messed up and broken. I ordered a new one and am waiting for it to get here. Could that be the problem with the #6 fuse blowing after I start driving? I can have the truck running sitting still for a half hour or so and the fuse won't blow. But about a minute after I start driving it blows everytime. All answers are appreciated.

I don't think #6 has anything to do with the FPDM. sounds like a cluster short to me..fine while your sitting still and once the truck moves it pops.. by disconnecting the other items on that fuse you have narrowed it down to the cluster. Cluster shorts are very common on your year truck.

I don't think the Instrument panel illumination is the problem. I just tested it, and I had the truck parking lights on for about a half an hour without it running while I was poking around pushing on harnesses and everything and they stayed on. I started the truck and had it running for awhile with no problem. I even put something at the wheels and tried going forward and backwards and no problem. I had my wife pull it out of the garage and go up the alley. She make it about 100FT then the fuse blew again. Does anyone know what BSM is on fuse #6 and where it is located?
