big bird yellow fx4

Hey guys I'm currently pulling my blown motor and replacing it in the next few days. I have pretty much torn everything apart except for underneath the truck now. It is a 4 x 4 so I'm planning on pulling the motor and leaving the tranny in the body still, that being said I have no idea how to get at the top bell housing bolts.. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. thank you in advance!

You can support the transmission and transfer case with a jack. Remove both driveshafts and any electrical that will cause problems. Unbolt the engine mounts, then unbolt the transmission mount. Lower the transmission jack and the engine will tilt back so you can get the top bolts. Be careful.
