Default '04 5.4L Suddenly shut down

Ok folks I have an issue with my '04 F150 S'crew 5.4L I was driving down the road about 65MPH when the engine quit running. I looked at my guages and the message center flashed a "Low Oil Pressure" message so I pull over and check the oil and the level is fine but the truck will not start hell it won't eve try to turn over. I mean I cannot even hear the starter try to engage.

I thought I had detected a faint odor of burnt wire/insulation. Never saw any smoke at all but would smell the odor every now and then. So I tow the truck home and put a meter on the battery and am reading 6.54 volts. I disconnect the negative and recheck with the meter and get a reading of 12.23. Not sure if I had really smelt the burnt wire or if it was my imagination.

So is there a fuse that coould blow and shut off the engine suddenly? What is the best way to try and track down a burnt wire? Also I did try to hook up a cheap code reader but go the "No Link" message.

ANY help or advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks
