took it to the dealer and they are saying probably the cam pahser according to their computer left bank in misfiring constantly. while they were testing it burped and seemd to be back to normal and the reading they had on the cam phaser looked more normal . does that sound like a phaser or maybe the cam position sensor to you guys. the want to drop the whole from cover to replace the phaser but everything I am seeing says you pull the valve cover and use this wedge tool and do it all from the top of the head anybody replaced them and know?

Hi Sidecar! Just replaced both on my 04 F150 and on mine you can actually get to it by removing the rubber gromet on top of the valve cover and then remove the 1 screw holding it in place. I found this out after replacing the oil pump. By some chance did yours start sounding like a Diesel? I found out that Mine now is having a P0193 code. which i causing it to want to stall at idel.

never really sounded like a diesel , it idless normal or pretty much so until you try to get some power form it and then it starts throwing a fit. the dealer is going on a sine wave and the fact my computer showed the enitre left bank is misfiring but it really idles too smooth for it to be missing on 4 cyclenders let alone all on the same side. they called late this afternoon and said it had autolite instead of mtorcraft plugs in it and that could be the problem. I dont think they beleive me when I told them that what the truck came with when I bought it I am wondering if saleen changed them to a dcolder plug when they put in th a/c. going to try new plugs but I'm thinking ill put them in myself they want 200 plus parts to do it anyone know if the autolites like to break like the motorcrafts do .

Yes they do!!!! Mine seems to be acting like that off the driver side. I was told that the one thing that I didn't replace needs to be replaced. And that is the cam phasers. Not really a easy task considering that the timing chain cover has to come off and then retime the engine.
