Default unsteady idle

Since getting my spark plugs done (and boots) I've had misfires and rough idle.
I replaced the spark plugs again, a month later. Brought the plugs to a local shop to look at as they were brown and nasty looking. The mechanic stated, "yeah, they look like ****". He wasn't sure what the brown (kinda powerish) stiff would be on them ad it went up onto the porcelain.
Hooked it up, no codes, no abnormal readings!!??

Since putting another set of plugs in (MC SP515), it still has a rough idle and will bog down at stops, worse with the AC on. This did not happen before the plug change.
Cleaned the MAFS, throttle body and new air filter last night. Seems to be doing better, but just not quite right yet.

Thoughts?
It's driving me nuts and making me nervous!

thanks

Fuel filter was changed about 5K ago.
I don't know about the cats...I assume a shop would have to check that?

I doubt it. The shop did a clear memory thing or something.

How do I do do the idle relearn process?

Well nasty brown as you say means 2 things to me.

If the tip is Brown. Your truck is running good! Not lean or rich and is still making your mixtures correctly.

If it's black or oil you are running rich

If it's burning white you are running lean.

That gritty brown you are talking about may be carbon buildup. I would seafoam it
