04 2wd max tire size - no leveling
What Im looking to know is the max tire size I can put on without a leveling kit for my 2004 Supercab 4x2 (17 inch wheels)?
Any recommendations on the tire brand ? This will mostly be used for winter driving
I tried searching, but everything comes up with 4x4 or leveling kit.

Is your truck 4WD? There's no way you have 35" tires on a 2WD with no leveling kit and you have no rubbing. The max recommended tire size for a stock size 2WD is 31" and with a leveling kit you can get 33's on there. I have 35's on my truck and know that they wouldn't be on there without the 6" suspension lift I have on the truck.

285/65r20 works out to be a 34.58" tire, that's a pretty big tire for a stock 2WD. If that's what you have on your truck then you are way over everything I have heard can fit on stock size 2WD F150's.

How do you like those BFG's? Do they look more aggressive in person then in pictures?

No i didn't I was wondering how i had 35" tires if that was right, so what does the 285/55 work out to? The BFGoodrich are really aggressive and are a considerably different ride than the bfg rugged trail t/a's that i had on before. So your truck is 2wd also i really like the before and afters ill put somw more pics up soon too get some more ideas on what i want to do.. Thanks

Takin' the low road.....
So, I don't think we ever heard what the max size is for a Scab XLT with 17" rims. I did the calculation on my stock tires (235/75R/17 Hankooks) and they worked out to be 30 7/8". I'm really hoping when these wear out to go with something larger to fill my fender wells a little better, but I do want to keep everything stock. Can we get to a 265/75/17 (32 5/8") tire under the fender without rub?
Hey Miller, here's my calculation on your 285/55/20s:
32 5/16"
