Default 04-08 Wiper Cowl????

I have a 08 Supercrew and ive gone to the dealership numerous times to get the wiper cowl fixed, (there is a technical service bulletin out for it so i'm assuming im not the only one with this problem) IT WONT STAY DOWN, in the middle where the two pieces connect the drive side always pops up about and inch.. is there anything anyone has done to fix this? My next step to fixing this is to buy the new pieces and have the dealer install them? But we all know that clearly will cost an arm and a leg...

why would you fix this out of your pocket? it should be a warranty issue and they should fix it for free, you may want to take it to a norther dealer and have them fix it for you

Snap it back into place, pull weather stripping off and put a screw in it were the little notch is next to the seam were the two cowls meet in the middle, this should fix it ... Ive done it with a few.

If the tech goes through the tsb very thoroughly then it shouldnt be a prob unless they are already dirtorted.. if so then it should be covered under warranty

I had the same problem and mine was faded. So i took it off to paint it black again and set it on the ground and noticed the piece its self was bowed. I used a heat gun to get it back to where the pieces would sit together again. Hope it helps

Damn!!! I bought the left/right pieces about 3 months ago for this reason (center kept popping apart). Both pieces set me back about $125.00.

It's been 3 months, and the new ones are now doing the same thing. The idea of putting a screw into them to hold them down bugs me, especially if there's a technical bulletin out for the repair techs.

Would you know of this bulletin number? I may be visiting my local dealership (truck is out of warrantee).
