I've seen this truck on Craigslist before.

Upon coming home from Germany, I noticed this. Driver side rear fender. the bigger spot is about the size of a quarter. What should I do? I was gonna sand blast it, primer it, use that duplicolor perfect match paint and then clear it. After that, I was gonna mount up some oem fender flares to cover it up since I know it won't be perfect. Anyhow, what do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like a good plan to me. Get all that rust out that you can. But if you plan to cover it, use some rust encapsulator (something like POR-15) then cover with flares. No need to get fancy with paint.

well the paint would be temporary until I buy the flares. But can I put the rust encapsulator on and then paint?

Yea. Almost all the brands create a polymer-like primer coat you can paint over.

Well friends, I'm trading in the 2007 tomorrow on a 2016 F-150 Lariat 2wd with the 502A package and a twin panel moonroof. Tan leather interior, 5.0 V8, Sony sound system, 3.31 electronic locker, white platinum tri with caribou lower. Sad to let my truck go but it's cost me $4200 already in 4 months and it's about to need around an extra $3,000 to keep it in good running condition.

Thanks bud. It's bittersweet. I've had my 07 for 7 years because I got it the first part of 2010. But I'm excited to start a new one. I plan to lower the back to level pretty soon after getting it as long as they wont cancel my warranty.
