Default 2007 STX mods

Added Horn that plays Dixie

Assembled here.

Doing some work

2 tire fryer taken from an Explorer

Mine has the 8.8 which is the same 8.8 that they put out for decades and on various models. 3.55 is the ratio which I am fine with that. Not too low for first gear and not too anemic.

This was matching color paint. Unfortunately the previous orange peel paint was not removed and the can exploded on me. But I think it looks decent.

I don't have any pictures of the cruise added but with this new drive by wire style of building them, it was just a matter of getting my Cruise Control Switches on amazon for $62.xx shipped and letting the dealership turn the option on in the computer.

How did you add the cruise control?

Very easy mod. The 04 and up F-150's are drive by wire. So everything is there but the switches and the computer has to know that the truck has the option. SOooooo, I bought the switches and added them took to the dealership to turn the option on.
Disconnect battery,
Remove knockouts that hide bolts that hold in airbag behind steering wheel
8mm nut driver to remove two bolts that hold the air bag in from behind
once removed, use 8mm boxed in wrench to remove the switch knockouts
wire in the switches (harnesses are present on all 04 and up trucks)
take truck to Ford dealership, tell them I want the cruise control option turned on. All total $100 service + $62.xx for switches from amazon.com

That's pretty awesome. Never thought of adding Cruise to a manual.

I just wish it was that easy to add cruise control to my 5 speed Jeep Wrangler.

Except this one, every manual transmission I have ever owned came with cruise control. The only difference in manual cruise vs auto cruise is manual crisis adds a clutch kill switch.

Since these newer trucks are drive by side there was no change the throttle body, add the module, add the switches try to find the wire harness it was just add switched and tell the dealership to turn it on.
