Are you saying that both different clusters displayed the correct mileage of the vehicle? Or both lcd screens in the same cluster?

To answer your first question I had both lcd screens in the origional cluster and both worked fine. And the second question is you just have a burned out light bulb in the cluster circuit board. Happens a lot, you can search the forums and find the exact bulb model number.

Actually I though I saw the bulb number in the forums but I can't find it now. I can check my old cluster sitting at home when I get off work. I would think if you went to a ford parts dealer and told him you need the bulb for the cluster that lights the Odometer he would have one. Theirs 2 different bulbs in the cluster. The black backed ones light the gauges and then a gray backed one that illuminate the odometer and one other think I believe. I actually have an entire extra cluster sitting at my place and I just bought a new 2011 and would be willing to just give the old cluster away.

See your local Ford parts department for the bulbs. There are two sizes, smaller ones for the guages, and a larger one for the information (green) panel. The larger one will get brighter when the parking lights/headlights are off (daylight), and dimmer when the lights are on (night time).

Does anybody know if you have to remove the entire cluster like the OP is showing to just change the bulb for the LCD? My LCD works fine but the bulb works intermittently. When it's not lit a couple of light smacks to the housing and it comes back on.

I went to Ford parts dept but they looked it up and did not have any in stock I would have to special order the bulbs. Thats why I was wondering if anyone had the part #. (plus it would be good to have the bulb #'s posted here)
Do these bulbs only come from OEM Ford or can I get them from an auto parts store?

So I'm going to try and straighten this bulb fiasco. There are two bulbs in the cluster. Black backed ones and grey backed ones. The grey ones have "V14/90 F5V" printed on them and the black ones have "HT71431" printed on them. Now this link will take you to a bulb replacement

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...gs+Best+Seller

Now it says it replaces OE part number 9421330. If you look up that part number it says it's a GM model number You can buy it from them for .50 cents.

http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm-bulb-9421330.html

And I cannot find any info about their being 2 bulbs, even though their are. Might just be easiest to have the ford guy order them.

Here's a pic of what they look like

My wife, the Banker and I own a parts store. I was unable to find the bulbs aftermarket. So I convinced the Ford dealership that they could get them. Took about 10 minutes of looking and 6 bucks.

edit: I stand corrected never even tryed to pull them out of the socket.
