04-08 Gotts Mod
I hope I said that right, is this mod effective on our trucks? I have a 04 with a 5.4 3v in it, was looking at a CAI but ALL of them are so overpriced, looking for some more umph when passing mainly. Not looking at a tuner right now. I have a set of e3 plugs on the way that will be going in soon, so Gotts mod and a K&N in the stock location???

The Edge Evolution is a great programmer. I ran it on my 05 for 60,000 trouble free miles and loved every mile of it. Alot of people will tell you to get the Gryphon now a days.

ive been looking alot into cai, programmers, exhaust, ect. bc theres say your truck will run lean. i dont see why bc your computer should throw a code but i called edge and a few other companies to hear it from them. since 04 ford stopped using the metering computer on the maf sensor that reads when theres extra air and adjusts the injectors accordingly. it has a factory setting that at a certain rpm it knows there should be a certain amount of air. when a cai is installed the computer gets confused and now runs lean bc it wont adjust, you need a custom tune like gryphon (not edge) to change the computer to run a cai. so even doing the gotts mod your adding more air that wont do anything power wise but will lean the engine out.

for some seems that the gotts mod works when you are at high rpm and you want to be sure you are receiving all the air that you can..... since i'm using it mostly for city/highway driving, mostly driving under 2000 rpm, i dont really see a difference using it. but i did had a beer while doing it.
