Default 04-08 5.4 Motor Mounts Leaking? HELP!

What's up dudes, have a problem with my 06 KR Screw. I noticed when I parked the truck today in my driveway started leaking a dark watery substance. I went under the truck and I can't tell where it's coming from because the engine mount is in the way. I googled it and I ended up in a forum talking about that these engine mounts are filled with hydraulic fluid and when they go out they start leaking. Is this true? I want to make sure before getting the truck checked out at a shop. Thanks.

I think ours is just rubber and block, though there are some hydraulic fluid filled mounts out there. Silly question, not your AC drain tube is it?

Your mounts are not fluid filled -- it's coming from somewhere else.

No it is not I checked it real good. Might be thinking a freeze plug? Here's a pic.

That looks like motor oil to me. I haven't looked, so this is from memory, but inspect the dipstick where it enters the block, and possibly the oil filter housing.

I can't remember if there's an extension housing on these trucks or not, I've seen problems there caused by overtightening and stuck oil filters. If we don't have the extension housing (it's obvious, I just can't remember) dipstick.

That much fluid you should be able to trace.

Not EPA certified, and known to the state of kalifornia to cause cancer, but a quick touch, taste / smell can often help immensely.

Last resort --- get a some UV dye kit.

What's the consistency of the liquid? What does it smell like?

Ya know, I might be wrong -- I know 100% that the last generation had solid rubber mounts, but I remember something about a hydromount when Ford revealed the redesign in 02 or 03.

If it IS oil from a motor mount, it would look like motor oil. Whatever it is they use, it reminded me of shock/fork oil in color and consistency. Had one fail in a Supra. . .

Thats motor oil. Your motor mounts are solid. Possible valve cover leak but defiantly not MM
