Why do you need a 30-40k auto loan to buy a $10,000 2009 F150? It would make no sense to spend $2-3K on a 5+ year old truck to do that unless it was wrecked to begin with. Makes much more sense to sell it and buy a 2009.

Of course modding one of these a trucks does not make FINANCIAL sense- people aren't typically doing it for financial gain. They do it for fun, as a hobby and because its just boring to drive a factory vehicle. So if you are not looking for ROI, just fun- and you achieve that- it actually does kinda make sense

Only 09 your gonna find for 10,000 is going to be a XL reg cab stick shift and prolly 100,000 miles... And did I mention v6? I'd rather do a front end swap as well... Definitely post up the photo shop would like to see that

uhhhh....probably right on the other things but '09+ have no manual trans option......(sadly)

Yea definately a downgrade for me. No thanks I'll stick with my 06 Lariat and do a front end swap and have another 3 or 4 years before I'm at a 100k miles.
