Default 2011 FX4 limp mode

hey guys,

so today as I was driving, my truck sputtered and went into limp mode. I could only go about 3 km/h and it would not shift out of 1st. Couldn’t get it to rev in park/neutral either. Idled around 1000 rmp, and sounded very laboured. This was after driving about 1.5 hours. I turned it off and back on again and it seemed to reset itself so I could drive hiway speed again. Wondering if anyone has experienced this before? It was -38 degrees Celsius, but the truck was warm. Perhaps a sensor of some sort that was affected by the cold? Moisture in fuel filter?

Thanks!

My wife's edge recently did this, they replaced the throttle body a known issue for the edge.

Did it happen in the cold weather too?

Only happened one time, it threw codes and the CEL& wrench, was immediately taken to the dealer. They pulled codes and diagnosed. Was not a "cold or extremely hot" day.

Same thing though, pulled over turned off car, restated and car drove fine. Thanks God for the codes.
