Default X4 Tuner Question

I think I may have screwed up.......

I updated my SCT tuner, but forgot to load my factory tune onto my truck first.
Should I be concerned?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Does updating the x4 completely erase it and all saved data?

mar1....hook it up just to give it power and look....I didn't read anywhere that said anything about making sure you had to have stock tune in to update it.
I could be wrong but you can hook it up and browse through it to see (Without retuning). good luck and keep us updated!!

RTFM - Page 21 of the SCT X4 man-well:

1.2 Device Firmware & Tune Revision Updates

"From time to time, you may wish to update your device to the latest version of firmware or tune revision.

For step by step instructions on how to update your SCT device, visit www.SCTFLASH.com and click on the Tech Support link. Make sure you have returned your vehicle back to stock before updating your unit".

And it's stated again - same page, further down:

"The stock file is stored during initial programming. The stock file stays on the programmer until returned to stock. You should always return your vehicle back to stock before taking your vehicle in to any auto service facility or before updating your device."

OP - Contact 5Star. Good luck.

Yes this^^. Whoever you originally ordered tunes from probably has the stock strategy they can email you to load back onto device/truck. Email or call them to see what options you have.
