Maybe it's just me, but I find my A/C will cool my truck faster and blow colder air if I don't turn the fan speed up as high as it will go. For maximum cooling on a very hot day, I will put the fan speed on the middle or one higher setting and leave circ on fresh air for a minute or so and then turn on recirc. It's been mid 90's here w/ heat index 100+ the last few weeks, and I've had no issues getting the truck to cool down inside within a few miles of driving.

You are right, but that is because the air travels slower over the cold evaporator and more heat is drawn from the air.

Since mine cools down quickly in the 93 degree days, much better than the daughters 2014 equinox, I'm happy. Always have it set for cabin air recirculation only. Open up these 65/70 degrees days.

I have this same issue with my work truck, I guess Ford never intended for the f150 to be a police vehicle. Mine is an '05 4x4 xcab 4.6 with rubber floors so I guess that doesn't help in S. Florida, but I'm going to try this little trick I'll let you know how it turns out.

Default A/C option

This is an easy idea. I have a Lowe's very near by and after the day cools down I am off to shopping for this project.

Thanks to the originator of this thread and Moderators for leaving this up as long as they have. This Forum is great for stuff like this. I am always looking for something to improve my truck.

Finally, a dealer that knows something! Turns out my loud fans are actually just one fan and apparently I have not had 2 fans operative. After a diagnosis, my PCM is faulty! Waiting for a new one!
