Had some free time so I decided to join the club. I foil wrapped the foam insulation before installing. Went pretty quick, about an hour to get parts, wrap, and install. I doubt I notice a difference, I did not measure temps before and after like y'all. I hope it helps some with the lack of AC when stopped in traffic.

I wonder if my '05 work truck has this issue? I'm going to have to take a gander.

Whether you have poor cooling or not, insulating the low side is a good idea.

Crazy & maybe interesting to others,
after I wrapped my trucks ac line it come to me to wrap my houses central air ac lines.
I feel stupid for not thinking of wrapping the houses ac piping the 14yrs that Ive had my home.

I did the outside line like I did my truck, foam & heat reflected 3M tape.
Inside I only used foam & tie-straps to wrap the line.

My houses inside utility room where my ac inside unit is had always stayed cool & now after wrapping the room is now not cool.

I wrapped my propane gas water heater in my utility room & the hot water piping under the house years ago. LoL.

Now back the original topic of this thread.

Took my truck to the dealer today to have the AC checked. It was only about 65 out when they did the tests.

High side- 130
Low side-30
Temp out vent-43 max cold

So after they came back and said all is normal I decided to go to Lowe's tonight and do the mod. Holy cow did I ever see an improvement.

Idling 70 degrees out in the shade I saw 29 out the vent and it hovers around 33-34 degrees. Very pleased. Thanks to the OP!!
