would you buy a 2011 eco ?
Time for a new to me truck. I like the current gen trucks and can live with the fact that the redesign is coming in a few months. Looking around I have seen some deals on low mileage 2011 eco fx4's. I'm not concerned with mileage and really don't have a preference to either motor, my only concern is buying a dependable truck and not throwing money away. I've read all the stories and hesitant to pull the trigger. Is my concern warranted?

I bought a used 2011 Eco. No concerns after 12000 additional miles minus a gas door spring everyone seems to have. If I did it over I'd go for the 5.0 if you have no engine preference though. Ask to see all the maintenance records for TSBs etc to make sure you don't get an Eco stutter someone traded in though.

Simply NO. Many changes 2 years later to the 13 model, different turbos etc. Why, because it needed it because of issues. Not saying the 11 was bad, just not good, first year model just don't cut it. Same reason 15 is not going on the list.

I own one so yep.
Not had any issues in three years.
Any vehicle no matter the brand if the miles very low I'd be nervous but those often get those certified whatever warranties.

Former '11 owner. Truck flawless except for a noise at startup that was the brake booster. Otherwise it pulled hard got great mpg and never had one issue ever. 20-24 hwy at 60-65 and mixed 18 always. 4x4 screw 3.55 gears. Only traded to get more options... Eco again.

Just traded my 2010, 5.4L for 2011 Ecoboost. Love it!! Had no issues yet. The dealer did tell me that any of the prior issues/recalls Ford had with the Ecoboost/Turbos had been fixed under warranty. Truck runs great and far nicer to drive than my old 5.4L....not to mention better gas mileage.

I would buy one, (5.0 or Eco) it wouldn't matter to me. I have an Eco and never had a major problem with it (gas cap door spring, grease yoke). I use it as a daily driver and I tow my camper with it a few times a year. I plan to keep it for a long while.

I have a 2011 Eco screw 4x4.
Had 30k when I bought it and just turned 70k yesterday. Took a 2 week trip to Wyoming last year. 6000 miles and got 21mpg. Overall mileage is at 17.3. Just had the vacuum pump replaced. I have not had an issue with the CAC as many had not have I had issues with the "front end popping."
I have had it in for a few things but usually for stuff I broke.
I fixed a broken gas door.
So far tons of power, comfortable, nice cruising, quiet.
My biggest issues have been with the Sync system. It's been in several times for "updates" and it seems the last one has worked.
