Would it hold up
I have a Ford PSD Excursion 6.0 that I I use to pull my travel trailer . The travel trailer is 7,200 pds dry . So my Excursion brakes down on my way home from camping . So I call my mom who has a 09 and hitched it up and drove her home . To my surprise the dam truck seemed to pull the camper better then the X . So I wanted to know if the trans would hold up long term on pulling the camper maybe 6 to 7 times a yr ? The truck did not have the max tow package either . I was really shocked how well she towed even with out a trailer brake . If the truck can pull that a few times a yr it might be time to give the boot to the Diesel .

You should have no problems pulling that with a 150. I had a 6500# TT (+ another 1000# of crap in it = 7500#) that I pulled with my 05 150 and had no issues and that was with an aftermarket Trailer Brake. With the integrated one its going to be even better.

I've got an XLT Screw with the max tow package and 3.73 rear-end and six-speed tranny. I tow about a 5000# travel trailer and its a joy even compared to my old Suburban Z71 which previously had been my favorite tow vehicle.
As far as durability? I think the six-speed tranny is new this model year and many things on the truck are new so nobody has any long-term information for you. I've had no problems so far but only have about 1,000 miles of towing on the rig.
The integrated brake controller is well worth the option cost or even cost of purchase and installation if you don't get it with the truck from the factory. Much better than any aftermarket brake controller I've ever used.
