No I hit the joke I just didn't give into it an wanted to try to stop all the BS I knew was going to come. Didn't work though. Look I could careless about a single one of you out there that troll threads, hell if you have nothing better to do I'm glad that I was able to give you a highlight in your pathetic life's by writing this thread.
Point being your truck turns on trailer sway control automatically bc it can not recognize if you have a trailer or not. When it's on it is constantly messing with the braking. Turn it off and it doesn't which results in better gas regardless. Has nothing to do with letting off the brake and resetting the mpg to read 99.9mpg.
Trying to be helpful but this is the last time I post on this web site. Have fun getting joy out of yals lonely lives from the internet. If yal want entertainment go watch ****....

One Bad MoFoMoCo Owner
There are four different systems.
1. Trailer Sway Control
2. Traction Control (keeps you from going sideways in the rain)
3. Advancetrac (also works to keep the truck straight and helps prevent rollovers)
4. 2 wheel antispin (works like LSD, bit uses the ABS system to vector power)
If you quick push the traction control button, it turns off trailer sway only. This is only activated by plugging a trailer into the harness. This stays off when turned off regardless of speed. This is in the manual.
Push and hold the button for five seconds, release, and you have turned off traction control. This turns off the throttle blipping ability of the computer, preventing any reduction of power. This comes back on above 35mph. This too is in the manual.
Push and hold until Advancetrac Off is displayed, about ten seconds, and Advancetrac is off, plus traction control is now off, even above 35 mph. The computer will no longer reduce power to prevent rollovers or going sideways at highway speeds. This is not in your manual anywhere, because the average driver shouldn't do this.
Two Wheel antispin is always on, and can't be turned off. Not sure that you'd want to. This works better in 2012 + years, as they refined the technology they derived from owning Range Rover a while back. In 4wd, this effectively makes both axles operate as if they had lsds. I have thoroughly tested it offroad, and it's extremely effective.
Hope this helps.

My mistake, sorry. My f150 was 2010 and my f350 is a 2013 and I've never seen trailer sway control but I haven't looked through the menus too many times yet on my f350. When I press my traction control button once it says traction control off, when I hold it for 5 seconds it says advance trac off, pressing it again regardless of how long you hold it turns it back on.

noob :)
Tried shutting off the trailer sway control today on a 3 hour drive... (access though the settings menu in the center cluster close to speedometer)... I didn't gain any extra mileage

The op's truck might have thought there was a trailer attached when there wasn't, so it was applying brakes over uneven roads and in cross winds.
Shutting off hill start assist gained 2mpg in my jeep even though a speed bump is the biggest hill for a 100 miles.

As a new F150 Ecoboost owner and obvious new F150 Forum member...I must say that this has been one of the most entertaining threads I've read. The good natured jabs were awesome. Thanks everyone for the laughs...on to the next thread about increasing mpgs :-)
