Factory remote start retrofit for 2010?
I am in the market for remote starter, and in reading about all of the bells and whistles of the factory installed one on the 11's I am wondering if anyone knows if you can buy it as an aftermarket item through the dealer and have it put on a 2010 model. I also dont want some young punk at a local stereo shop cutting into my wiring harness. I know a factory ford unit will be more expensive but I would rather have a plug and play unit installed by the dealer. Thanks

yeah they've been around for years as factory Ford accessories. They are partial plug and play for 2009 and 2010. There's a plug in harness but then there's about 4 or 5 wires left that need to be spliced into the truck. Ask your dealer for a quote. There's a basic 1-button fob system and another system that has 2-way confirmation.
Then there's the Gold system that is an alarm, remote start, and keyless entry all built into a 6-button fob. But it's not plug and play, it requires about 16 or so wires to be spliced into the truck. I have this system on my 09.
you can't change the settings through the instrument cluster like on the 11's, but there is a program button you use to change the settings like the run time of the system, horn confirmation chirps, double press or press and hold button to start option, etc.
