Default 2010 climate control blower

Hey guys. Over the past few months my blower selector switch has been giving me less and less options. What I mean is now when I have the fan on setting 1 and 2 there is no air blowing and on setting 3 and 4 it operates normally. I rarely turn my blower up to 3 because its so dang lound but now I have to if I want some heat! A search revealed a post from 6 years ago that suggested I check the blower motor resistor. What do you guys think? If it is the resistor can someone describe where it is located and how to test to verify that is my problem?

That sounds like a blower motor resistor to me. My buddy had a Dakota with the same symptoms and changing the resistor fixed the problem. It sounds like you have the manual climate control system so you can get one from an auto parts store for around 25 bucks. A quick search at Ford parts says its about 40 from them for my 2010.

Not sure what year your truck is but this should hopefully help you

Thanks for the help guys! Would you guys think its a good idea to replace the blower too, as a preventative thing?

When my resistor went out, the blower just ran at high no matter what the speed was set to. Once it was replaced (under warranty) everything was back to normal.
