ok guys let me start by saying i love my 6.4 to death and dont want to get rid of it but about to have 2nd child in april and hoping to buy a house soon so i might be gettin back in a F150 08 or newer cuz 2 dealers offered me 2-3k more then i owe on my 6.4 and buying an STX or XL 4x4 F150 would lower my payments 150ish a month... so what im gettin at is i dont see to many STX or XL newer 150s on here so wondering how you guys like them and how is the 4.6 3V?

Those base models along with XLT are the most common F150 so I would guess they are well liked, however I would reccomend the 5.4 over the 4.6 if you do any kind of towing.

I bought a 2010 xl screw 4.6 3v a couple weeks ago. I love it, but I must say it is my first F150 and my first truck, so I can't really compare it to any of the higher-end models. I get around 13.5 -14 city mpg if that matters at all.

XLs are bought almost exclusively as work trucks for companies. Very few buy an XL as a personal vehicle. STXs are a mix of work or personal trucks. FYI the 2008 MY is the old style; the new style is 2009+ MY. The 4.6 3V came out in 09. I strongly recommend getting the 4.6 3V (with 6 speed tranny) over the 4.6 2V (with 4 speed tranny).
