I ended up taking the Ford deflector off my Lariat. The whistling drove me crazy. I still have it in my garage if anyone wants it!!

Man this is just so weird. Has to be something wrong in these noisy trucks and bug shields are a big problem. On my Sierra, not wind noise, just extreme buffeting of the cab if you are passed by or pass a Semi or get hit with a sudden wind gust.

I am considering aftermarket exhaust just to keep me awake mine is so quiet.

No wind noise, nothing. 80mph quiet.

Now, if I am driving when the wind is blowing 40mph, I'll hear some wind noise but for a vehicle period much less a truck this thing is just . . . .

I wanted to revisit this as I had heard all about how quiet these trucks interiors were...but I can always hear the wind noise through the door, seems to be up near the roof line. There can be zero wind outside, but cruising at any speed I can hear the noise through the door. It isn't coming straight through, but you can hear muffled noise pretty loudly. Is this normal or are the cabs really supposed to be that quiet? Could the tow mirrors contribute to the noise? I'm gonna try and take a video with my phone and see if it picks up the noise.

I sure hope It's normal because I can hear the same thing lol. And I don't have tow mirrors. Other than that, my cab is pretty quiet.

Its not like the wind is coming right through the seal, but you can hear the wind catching around the edge of the door.
My 2010 FX4 SCrew has a really annoying whistling sound with a fairly strong crosswind when I get over 60mph, doesn't matter which side of the truck the winds blowing on either, it kinda sounds like blowing over a bottle, stops when you get beside a truck, go through an under-pass, etc. I have a Retrax bed cover, but it does it with it open or shut, I had the same brand of bed cover on my '08 GMC SCrew and it was quiet & air tight.

Any suggestions??

I think it is just that the rest of the cab is so quiet that you really notice the wind on the glass. The glass seems to be thin because even a fart can exhaust passing you seems like you hear it through the glass

Default Wind noise

Ok. If you are hearing whistling noises coming from drivers side top part of windshield take to shop. They have had my truck since Jan. 17. They have three trucks so far with pinholes in this area. It took getting a tech from Ford to come down to dealership to listen at problem. It is NOT windshield!! There are NO reports on this for dealer to find. It's a day fix tops if they know what to look for I am going on 29 days without truck. I bought Dec. 17, picked up Dec. 19.

My 05 regular cab was 10x quieter than my 12 screw. That truck had a bug deflector, this one doesn't. So I'll buy into the theory of more glass = more noise. I don't believe the bug deflectors increase noise, in that old truck when you hit 80 the wipers bounced like crazy. The wind off the deflector hit right in the middle of the windshield, it didn't wrap it around the side of the truck.

We drove one of those heap Chargers recently for a couple hundred miles. The wind noise on the highway in that thing made you question why they even put windows on the car.
