Winches used with the RC Hidden Plate
I know there are a lot of threads on this topic, but I want to get a single thread with the names and model #s of the winches people have used with the Rough Country Hidden Mounting Plate on 09-14 trucks. I also want to know what pull rates people used and if there were any issues installing the specific winches. I have a 2010 King Ranch and really want to use the RC plate, but I want to know what winches can fit easily with this mount.
Thanks guys!
P.s. Any photos would be appreciated too! I think this mod looks awesome on these trucks.

Oh yeah, for your questions.
Rough Country kit was perfect. Absolutely no complaints what so ever. The cover fills the hole nicely with about 1/2 in clearance on each side. I had to Slightly trim the plastic (it's in an unseen spot) at the towhooks to get the plate in flush and perfect. I just used a sawzall. 5 min job.
I installed a Warn VR10000 winch rated for 10K pull. With a Wireless remote by Warn. Bolted right up with no issues whatsoever to the RC plate. Warn Roller fairlead lined right up also with the RC mounting holes standard.
The only issue is the solenoid pack has a small ground wire that must be connected to the winch main ground cable on the winch's motor casing. Trouble is that if you don't know it then you mount the winch then play "dammit" trying to get that ground cable bolt out in order to install the little wire from the solenoid pack. They located it right on the bottom of the motor with about 1/2 inch clearance from the winch plate! So mount the wires first or make an extension wire and tighten that bolt up first BEFORE mounting the winch.

Thanks Lenny, saw that thread earlier but that wasn't what I was expecting. I have a 5.4 so I know your install was more complicated but had a few questions. When you mounted the plate, did you just use the tow hook mounts or is there a third mount location? I've watched the video on RC's website and it seems they only use the tow hook mounts. Also, any issues with the 10,000lb winch? I figure it can handle what you throw at it. I was considering a 9500lb.

"Tip" remove the front bolt with socket. Then loosen rear bolt with socket and ratchet enough to slide the towhook out the keyhole slot. Then take the second bolt out with your ratchet as the nut inside the frame will push up leaving you the clearance to use a ratchet and socket above the air dam the whole way. Put the plate up and start the second bolt first as you can wiggle the nut around from the front of the truck frame. Then the front. And finally the third one with the flag handle nut from the kit.
Realistically, start to finish is less than an hour I would say for the plate installation.
