Some times we just think to much. Just do it. Fix the problem. Be happy.
If I have a problem and every thing I was told to fix it didn't work and some one told me to jump up and down on one leg eight times and it fixed the problem, I don't ask why I just drive off happy.

Although I have an appreciation for what you are saying, I just can't just take that as an explaination
I have to understand why things do what they do, If I don't understand, eventually I will find the answer
our trucks have an adaptive learning computer. disconnecting battery sets it back to factory default settings, mainly tranny shifts. i do this with my wifes Flex, don't no how to explain it but feels like the transmission shifts lazily. after disconnecting the battery, both cables the shifts are firmer like new.
I will buy that. But if our trucks are that damn smart, wouldn't you figure it would adapt to a different tire size and self correct the friggin' speedometer
I mean, if it can figure out the NAV, it should be able to figure out the speedometer too.

Retired and loving it!
Many dealers sell new trucks with lift kits and big tires --- of course they charge twice what you could get them for aftermarket.....so I don't see how they could claim any warranty problems if you did this yourself.
It would have to be a pretty bad dealer to claim that bigger tires caused a transmission problem.
Really, big tires would be much less of a load on the trans than when you tow near the max the truck is rated for, right?
MPG? Don't even think about complaining about your mpg after doing a modification like this......expect a 20 to 30% increase in your gas use..........OUCH! With gas heading to $4.00+ a gallon, I expect we'll see fewer big tire, raised trucks.
