That's why if they want to be King of the (Hellcat)Hill, they will probably supercharge that 5.2 in limited numbers and lay waste to the competition.

and the 6.2 in those configurations makes ungodly amounts of torque netting it close to 30 mpg with an ultra low 6th gear.
even with an efficient twin screw or similar the 5.0 can't make the grunt down low to pull that off at those power levels and meet 50 state emissions. its why they've used other engine platforms for the gt500.

a well built 5.2 flat plane motor could make upwards of 700 at the crank with the right heads and more compression all motor. I'd rather see that than a power adder thrown on it, but for the sake of manufacturing and warranties it'll never happen.

Not only are they low production vehicles they don't fall under the strict conditions of the light pick up class.
That's where the real problem lays.
With the small or mid-sized cars they can keep the average MPG of their class low with the super small displacement motors they have. So they can make those monsters that put out 500+ HP and TQ and not have it affect the average by much. Hence why the 6.2L got the axe.
CAFE single handedly killed the V8 in trucks. Mark my words. In 5-10 years time the V8 will be a tough thing to find in light trucks...
With the trucks the best motor they have only gets like 24MPG in a perfect world.

The statement was that Ford will never make a s/c version of the coyote 5.0 due to CAFE and my question was, how were they able to make a s/c version of the 5.4. Was that before CAFE restrictions existed?
I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to meaz93, who I thought was replying to BDYY, and now I just confused the **** of myself lol.
