They will never make a 5.0L Ecoboost. And it's because of 4 evil letters.
CAFE

Did the s/c 5.4 in the lighting happen before all the CAFE stuff?

The original Lightning had the 5.8 V8.

He's referring to the 2013-2014 GT500 5.8L DOHC engine, not the 351

less truck for about the same price as a fx2/fx4.

yes..........why wouldn't that sell well?

the tremor was never a performance truck. it was a bunch of spare parts thrown together and "marketed" as something new.

the only thing the tremor offered was an ecoboost in a reg cab for weight savings. thats really the only thing it had and the markup to get that didn't make sense at all.

With the flat plane crank and 8200 RPM redline, I don't see the new 5.2 ever ending up in a factory truck.

Exactly, won't happen and wouldn't make sense. A boosted 5.0 or tuned up ecoboost is more likely.

Uhm, I'm referring to the 99-03 5.4 lightnings.
The statement was that Ford will never make a s/c version of the coyote 5.0 due to CAFE and my question was, how were they able to make a s/c version of the 5.4. Was that before CAFE restrictions existed?

CAFE or not, GM made a Supercharged 6.2L for the ZR1, CTS-V, and ZL1 Camaro.
and Ford made a Supercharged 5.8L for the Shelby.

Granted, these are ultra low production number vehicles.
I can see Ford putting a Turbo on them now instead of a S/C.
