Why would anyone buy EcoBoost--What a scam!

What's "tow heavy" mean? Tow the 11,000 it's rated for? I'm sure it will - I'd be more concerned about the transmission or rear holding up rather than the engine. I'll blow your world that Big Rigs are also 6 cylinder engines!
And FYI - want to know what the people that actually pay claims think? Look up extended warranty costs 5.0 vs EB. They are the same. If anyone would know how "unreliable" it is, it would be them. And they would adjust premiums accordingly.

I would love to spend time explaining your flawed-logic...if I thought you might get it. I am not willing to waste my time. The 5.0 and ecoboost are not equal on warranty claims and if you think they are...again I can not waste my time on fantasy. You could waste your time and get the numbers proving you are wrong.

Cause those that pay out for actual warranty claims don't increase premiums if you have an EB. If it cost them $0.01 more in claims they would raise your rates $1.00.

The Ecoboost is only rated 1 mpg better than the 5.0. Weight of specific options and gear choice can explain differences larger than 1mpg. Differences should only be expected to be negligible. And, if you need to tow more than 11,300, why would you buy a 1/2 ton truck?
1. For the most part, Ford has addressed the condensation issues. You did not mention that you had specifically experienced this issue. Have you? How many times? Did you take it back to the dealer?
2. I'm not sure what ignition problems you are referring to. Recent model years seem to have the correct plug gapped appropriately. Have you had ignition problems? I don't recall you mentioning that.
3. Valve coking has nothing to do with heat from the turbos and shows your lack of knowledge regarding such. Valve voking occurs more frequently in DI engines as the intake valves do not get washed by detergents from injector fuel spray. In fact, some of the more problematic valve coking DI engines are N/A.
The Ecoboost is popular because of low end power. It is also relatively inexpensive to gain 60-100 hp and well over 100 ft/lb of torque with nothing more than a tune.
Any more questions?

I really appreciate a fair, non-abusive post, of valid points. I think you should read up on the coking. It is only happening on the ecoboost model of the f150 and it is caused by heat. I am interested in why you have a different opinion. As to my "lack of knowledge," it could be yours. Please look that up because Ford is working on that issue.
The ecoboost may be popular for the reasons you claim. I think the main reason if Ford's falsification of gas savings. You might save gas on the EPA tests, but the consensus is do not buy this to save at the pump. That consensus is from most testing publications; so don't debate that. I think the reason ecoboost is so popular is for the same reason everyone bought pet rocks and tickle-me-elmo.
