Why would anyone buy EcoBoost--What a scam!

Your butt plug is causing condensation and coking and reliability is below average? What does that have to do with Ford and the Ecoboost engine?
Another pointless detractor/distraction. All of my points are valid...condensation, plugs, coking and reliability is below average. The only reason more people don't start threads like this is because of the thugs who are promoting ecoboost with special interests--Deny it, if you can.

Is the ecoboost getting better mileage?
Not really and is the little bit worth it--Not seeing it.
Is the ecoboost a heavy hauler?
Not really. For the little bit more that Ford rates it over the V8 it seems marginal.
So what are you getting?
1. The potential for stumbling as the condensation gets sucked in.
2. Ignition problems requiring that you reduce the plug gap.
3. Coking on the intake valves caused by the heat from the turbos.
Tell me again why the ecoboost is so popular?????

1. For the most part, Ford has addressed the condensation issues. You did not mention that you had specifically experienced this issue. Have you? How many times? Did you take it back to the dealer?
2. I'm not sure what ignition problems you are referring to. Recent model years seem to have the correct plug gapped appropriately. Have you had ignition problems? I don't recall you mentioning that.
3. Valve coking has nothing to do with heat from the turbos and shows your lack of knowledge regarding such. Valve voking occurs more frequently in DI engines as the intake valves do not get washed by detergents from injector fuel spray. In fact, some of the more problematic valve coking DI engines are N/A.
The Ecoboost is popular because of low end power. It is also relatively inexpensive to gain 60-100 hp and well over 100 ft/lb of torque with nothing more than a tune.
Any more questions?

Boost :)
If you have proof of any of your claims or AGAIN what your definition of heavy towing or usage is, then please feel free to provide it. I have seen nothing of the sort up to this point. I have provided literally hundreds of examples of people who use theirs for what it is intended and probably use them harder than 90% of the rest of us. Please provide your proof.

And FYI - want to know what the people that actually pay claims think? Look up extended warranty costs 5.0 vs EB. They are the same. If anyone would know how "unreliable" it is, it would be them. And they would adjust premiums accordingly.

Do I really need to answer that? See, the ecoboost had problems with condensation causing the engine to stumble. The was actually reviewed by the NTSB. Getting a review isn't automatic. They have also had problems with misfires and the solution has been to gap the plugs smaller. Now they are addressing the coking, which could cause major engine problems. "What does that have to do with Ford and the Ecoboost?"

What's "tow heavy" mean? Tow the 11,000 it's rated for? I'm sure it will - I'd be more concerned about the transmission or rear holding up rather than the engine. I'll blow your world that Big Rigs are also 6 cylinder engines!

so what is it you want us to say? if you dont like it sell it, get what ever makes you happy. I love my 2011 eco 49k miles and no issues. oil and gas thats it. It pulls my travel trailer over the pass @ 65mph while doing it 3500 rpms that is why I bought it. and this engine is going to be my benchmark for all future truck purchases. as of now nothing out there in halfton trucks has anything that can compare in performance.
