I recently upgraded my 2008 STX 4x2 to a 2011 F150 XLT 4x4. Both Super Cabs. In my old truck the tire jack was located behind the front passenger seat underneath the "40%" section of the rear bench seat. This was great because underneath the 60% rear bench, behind the driver seat, it was nothing but open space. As a result, there was a vast amount of rear storage space with the 60% rear bench seat flipped up. It was easy stow large bulky items behind the driver seat. It was very nice when hauling stuff from Costco, Home Depot, etc...

In the 2011, however, Ford located the tire jack behind the driver seat, underneath the 60% portion of the rear bench. Thus, I'm not able to stow larger items behind the driver seat, because the tire jack gets in the way. The jack cannot be relocated to utilize the floor space. So much for the "flat floor" that Ford boasted about in its F150 DVD.

My guess is that a bigger jack was needed for the 4x4 and it could not be located behind the passenger seat. Regardless, not really thrilled with jack's location in my 2011, but still really happy with my decision to get the 2011.

That is what the box is designed for is to haul stuff maybe u should have got a expedition lots of room in the back

haha! There is a bump up along the whole back wall in my 2010 about 6 inches wide maybe, the jack is inside that behind the passenger seat, there is a little tray to hold stuff behind the drivers seat. Other than the sub under the back passenger seat my floor is completely flat. post a pic of yours would ya?

Hey sultan, your truck is a screw I'm assuming. To get to your jack you have to lift that tray out and the if you look towards the passenger side there are two wing nuts with plastic heads. Loosen those and the jack will slide over to the now removed tray section. I find it 100 times better than my 06 which was just bundled up underneath the 40 section..

I put mine in a box in the bed til I read what someone on here did and used their idea. They lowered the spare tire and wrapped the jack in something water proof and then put the jack inside the wheel and raised it. Works great. I slid the bag with the extensions between the rear seat and the outer wall of the back seat so it's easy to get to.

Just call Ford Motorist Assist....it's free for the first 5 years 60,000 miles..just sit there until somebody changes your tire for you...Haha Joking....

I have only read about the flat floor in the super crew, not the super cab.

For those wanting pictures, this truck is a Super Cab, and the floor is flat.

i was looking for it just in case i needed it in the future.. but givin the location of it ..and since i have a toolbox..i just put my 2 ton floor jack in the toolbox...with some extra blocks of wood for a solid surface..if i ever need it ...those factory jacks r crap... IMO
